Work's cool, aside from waking up at 6:00am every morning. But it's good to get into that routine. Every day after work i catch the dundas bus to first street then jog the rest of the way home. I figured since its so cold out maybe it'll be easier to jog, you know, more refreshing and less tiring and whatnot. yeah... i was wrong.

DC was a fucking experience and a half. we took part in the rally but we didn't stay around too long for the march. it was stopped at the steps of congress and nothing really happened from there. maybe next time. me and sarah got split up from everyone else so we just decided to do some sightseeing afterwards. we visited alot of the memorials, washington monument, the world war 2 memorial , vietnam memorial, the lincoln memorial. arlington cemetery was probably the highlight (or lowlight if you think about it). there are graves of fallen soldiers as far as you can see, and it just doesn't end. the tomb of the unknown soldier is there too, and the last place we went was the grave site of JFK. i filmed most of it, and a couple other people got some good footage too so i'm gonna try and get it all so i can throw it all together. lots of pictures too. i'll share when i've got it all up.

i got beef with the lincoln memorial. for a memorial for a guy who put an end to slavery and liberated an entire race of people there's not much about that anywhere. especially in the fact that on the very step where martin luther king jr gave his 'I have a Dream' speech there's nothing but a caption on the piece of stone he stood on. and you'd walk right by if it somebody didn't tell you it was there. you can barely see it, and when you do you can barely even make out what's written on the stone. so where every fallen soldier gets plaques and statues and monuments glorifying their cause, all MLK gets is an indentation on a piece of stone most people just walk over and ignore or dont even notice.

today i saw Blood Diamond with sarah, my family, my aunt and her family, and my pepe. it was EXTREMELY well done. i'd go see it again if it wasn't so depressing. it must have been a 2 and a half hour guilt trip for any married couple there.

new years resolution: 1) get healthier. eat right. sleep right. excersize.
2) be more productive. make stuff. learn how to do stuff. specifically i've been getting interested in film editing, photo editing, music recording, music mixing, alot of multimedia stuff. i dont care if it doesnt get me a job, it's what i want to do right now.
3) find a job. give up and go to a job agency. anything (legal) that'll make me money at the moment.

merry christmas everyone. hope it was good. we had two christmas's this year at the house. yesterday was the italian christmas, with lasagna and fettini and barbequed ribs (our first christmas barbeque)... today was the french-canadian christmas with turkey and meat pies and plum pudding and so on. i got this here laptop i'm typing on right now (macintosh powerbook G4 whut), alot of socks and boxers, kenny vs spenny season 2, THE SOPRANOS TRIVIA GAME (lol), and gift certificates. sarah got me a sweater and slippers and Naked Pictures of Famous People by Jon Stewart. I got her a necklace and earrings. good year.

tomorrows boxing day. i'm currently in the middle of an all nighter with jon until tomorrow... around 5am we will probably get in my car and line up at best buy till it opens at 6am. yes, its crazy, but i've got a bit of christmas cash and i need a few things. on my list is a 250 GB external hd and a JVC camcorder. there are less than 10 of each in the store. that'll come to about $400 for it all. oh the savings.

well i just got back from a job interview at the lasalle applebees for a cook position. turns out my dad sold a car to both of the district managers, who are married and run all the windsor stores, and they're opening up some restaurants in london as well. So its looking like a good idea and i'm pretty sure i've got the job. i hope. i took this 150 question 'yes or no' test which was completely retarded and asked me alot of the same questions more than once. like, 'you dont like being bossed around' or 'you sometimes find it hard to do hold a conversation'. and im there thinking, 'theres nobody who LIKES being bossed around, and of course people can't hold a conversation if they're talking to a complete idiot', but i just answered how i figured they'd want me to answer. if it even matters in the first place, im sure i'd get the call back anyways. and if i dont... well... i'd rather not think about it right now.

head over to charlie's pub tonight if you feel like 5$ pitchers and game 2. i'll be there. if edmonton wins, i'll be in good spirits. if they lose, i'll need a few more of those 5$ pitchers.

oooooh 6/6/06! the end of the world! yeah, anyways... i stayed home and watched the 1976 version of The Omen, which was alright but probably better than the re-vamped one. FYI, the person who wrote the original screenplay also wrote the new one, but when i say wrote i basically mean copied and pasted and added in a few more lines, so don't expect too much to have changed.

so they want to cut the head off of the prime minister. to me it sounds like a ludacris accusation and only wishful thinking on the 'terrorists' part because it isn't too easy to kidnap the most powerful man in the country. but all that bombing shit's weak. violence leads to more violence, which leads to even more violence. people/politics are stupid and i doubt it'll change anytime soon. in all probability change isn't going to come about until all these problems escalate to world war three. but even then we (the west) will be oil-hungry war mongers who bitch and whine and aim our bombs wherever we want.
